Project Overview

Scottish Water is investing in a project to help prevent sewer flooding at this location.

A new sewer is being constructed, and we are installing an underground pumping station in Carmunnock Road, between Second Avenue and Third Avenue.

The project is being delivered for Scottish Water by our alliance partner, Caledonia Water Alliance, and it is expected to take around six months for completion.

What we are doing

This work involves excavating and installing new sewer pipes, with new manholes.

Parking restrictions will be in place near the works. Please look out for the parking signs erected on the lampposts and the ‘no waiting’ cones.

The two green kiosks that are required to house the electrical controls will be placed on the pavement of Carmunnock Road. The two kiosks will be 2.93m (L) x 1.62m (H) x 0.76m (W) &  1.6m and (L) x 1.32m (H) x 0.65m (W).

Pedestrian access will be maintained.

When are we doing it

Work started from 22nd November 2021 and will last approximately 6 months.

Two bus stops in the area require to be suspended, please use alternative bus stops on the route.

We would ask that you please stay safe around construction sites.
